Biography of Paul Langevin

Paul Langevin is a French physicist. He was born and died in Paris (1872-1946).

He worked initially in England,then became, in France, professor of : general and experimenal physics in the principal college of France then of industrial physics and chemistry.

During the second world war, because of his antifascists, he had to take refuge in Switzerland. He was the author of works on the ions, magnétish in gases relativity. His work on the ultrasounds made it possible to develop the technique of research of the submarines during the first world war, technical then used for the  localization of the underwater funds.

It made, it possible o improve teaching of sciences, whose he proved an excellent popularizer.
